Discovery Island

Wilderness Explorers is an interactive scavenger hunt type game played throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This entertaining attraction is based on the Wilderness Explorer adventure group that Russell from the Disney Pixar movie Up was a member of. Start your adventure by picking up your beautifully themed Wilderness Explorers field guide on the bridge located between the Oasis and Discovery Island. (You can also pick up a field guide in Africa, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Asia and Dinoland U.S.A.) The cast member will give you initial instructions and you are on your way. The Wilderness Explorer field guide is filled with 32 different animal and nature activities and experiences that you can encounter throughout the park. Your field guide includes a map that directs you to the many activity and experience areas. Once you complete an activity you will receive a badge to place in your field guide and if you earn all 32 badges you will become a Senior Wilderness Explorer. We highly recommend this and is a great activity for the whole family.

Touring Tips

• Pick up a Wilderness Explorers field guide right when you enter the park. This way you can participate in as little or as many activities as you want during the day.
