Ahhhh, there is absolutely nothing like the smell of freshly popped popcorn at Disney Parks. From the vendor near the Main Street U.S.A. Walt Disney World Railroad Station to the Hot and Fresh Popcorn stand near the upcoming Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you cannot miss that delicious smell. In fact, you can find fresh refillable popcorn almost anywhere at the Walt Disney World Resort. Today we are going to focus on the locations that offer refillable popcorn in the four major theme parks.
The refillable popcorn bucket at Walt Disney World has been around for many years now but is it going to be worth it for your 2019 vacation? First, let’s talk about what the current price for a standard box of popcorn is. Currently in early 2019 a standard box of popcorn is $5.00. The current price for the Disney World refillable popcorn bucket is $10.00 with a price of $2.00 per refill. The standard popcorn comes in a typical cardboard box while the refillable bucket is a fairly large collectible bucket with a handle and lid. The bucket features fun Disney graphics from the theme park that you purchased it in. For example, if you purchased the bucket in Disney’s Animal Kingdom it will feature an Animal Kingdom design. The designs on the bucket typically chance from season to season. The bucket is fairly large and I believe they hold roughly the same amount of popcorn. I could be off a bit on that one but for simplicity sake let’s go with that.
Is the Disney refillable popcorn bucket worth it? In short, it is absolutely worth it! If you feel you are going to purchase 2 or more popcorns during your trip simple math tells us that it is most definitely worth it. But wait, there’s more. As was previously mentioned you also get a collectible bucket that doubles as a great souvenir. That is even more value for your dollar. Do keep in mind that the bucket is good for your entire trip. We typically refill the bucket 7-10 times over the course of a week.
3 standard popcorns = $15 ➦ 3 refillable refills = $14 (initial $10 plus $2 + $2 plus a FREE souvenir bucket) = A great Disney deal!
