When will the Disney Skyliner Transportation System open at Walt Disney World? This is one of the most asked questions we have heard and read about ever since the project was announced during the 2017 D23 Expo. We know have an answer!
Disney announced today that the highly anticipated Disney Skyliner gondola system will begin transporting guests in the fall of 2019. This isn’t as specific of a timeline as one might have hoped for as fall runs from late September to late December. However, it still excites us! Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, made this announcement today at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
The Disney Skyliner Transportation System will transport guests from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resorts. These resorts include Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and the currently under construction Disney’s Riviera Resort. The gondola system will give guests new and unique views of the Walt Disney World Resort sure to provide some great photo opportunities.
Here is the current look at construction of the Skyliner. One photo was taken at Disney’s Hollywood Studios while the turn at Disney’s Boardwalk.
