If you have ever been to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and wondered what in the word is that crazy colorful area located in DinoLand U.S.A. For those of you that don’t know, that is Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama. A quick explanation of DinoLand U.S.A.‘s back story helps set the stage. It was 1947 and DinoLand U.S.A was just a small highway town at the time. That all changed when an amateur fossil hunter found some bones. Excited with his discovery he contacted some acquaintances that happen to be scientists. They purchased most of the land that the fossils were found on and DinoLand U.S.A. was formed. I say most because a couple, Chester and Hester, did not want to sell their land. DinoLand U.S.A. began to grow as many flocked to the area in search of history.
The Dino Institute was founded, Fossil Discovery Park opened, Restaurantosaurus opened up in an old fishing lodge and even time travel was discovered so obviously there was a lot of interested folk exploring the area. Chester and Hester saw this as an opportunity to open up a road side type carnival with games, rides, gas station and gift shop. As people poured into DinoLand U.S.A. they would see this crazy colorful fun land and want to stop…and so they did.
