Even though the D23 Expo is centered around all things Disney there will be a lot of Epcot transformation announcements along the way. Disney announced an all-new logo for Walt Disney World’s second theme park and we love it.
Epcot is currently undergoing its largest transformation ever. In fact, it is one of the largest transformations in all of the Disney theme park universe. We do know that the park name will remain the iconic acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. A name that Walt Disney himself created. Attendees at the “Imagining Tomorrow, Today” pavilion at D23 Expo got a first hand look at the new logo.
The logo is beautiful and simple. It is a throwback to the original logo created for the opening of Epcot Center in 1982 with just some subtle changes. We do know that most of the changes to the theme park itself will not be subtle and will move further away from the non-IP based original theme. A change that some will love and some will wish the past with the current.
Here is a look at the original Epcot Center logo. Do you see the similarities?
