The announcements just keep coming out of Walt Disney World regarding the the overhaul of Epcot. Some of these closures may surprise you.
Walt Disney World announced through their official website as well as @WDWToday on twitter that a lot of guest favorites will either be closing or finding a temporary home. All of these locations are located around Future World in the Fountain of Nations area and yes, it does include the Fountain of Nations. The list includes Pin Central, Electric Umbrella, Mouse Gear, Club Cool, Innoventions East, Colortopia, Nanooze Break, The Camera Center, Fountain View (Starbucks) and Epcot Character Spot.
Disney did confirm that some of these will find temporary homes but there is no word yet as to where these locations will be.
It does seem like a lot of these will be closing sooner than later as Disney confirmed a lot of these will cease operations on September 8, 2019.
Disney did state on the official website that the Electric Umbrella and Mouse Gear will remain open until the winter.
As part of the exciting transformation of Epcot, Electric Umbrella is scheduled to close this winter. New dining options will be available in the future, featuring a variety of food and beverage selections.
As part of the ongoing transformation of Epcot, Mouse Gear will move to a temporary home this winter while its current location is reimagined.
We will keep you informed on further developments but we want to know how you feel about the changes coming to Walt Disney World’s second theme park. Talk about it in our all-new WDW Kingdom Disney Forums!
