Walt Disney World is turning purple! New purple treats have arrived to tempt your sweet tooth.
A couple weeks ago we previewed the new color trend that Disney was rolling out with the arrival of the Potion Purple Minnie Mouse headbands. Today, we are seeing what the amazingly artistic culinary team has come up with for new treats. Let’s take a look at some new arrivals that look way too good to eat.
Arriving at the Castle Hub Cart at Magic Kingdom Park on January 11 is the Purple Minnie Cake on a Stick. This beautiful snack is a Minnie-shaped blackberry cake on a stick topped with a chocolate bow and coated in purple chocolate. Yes that is right, purple chocolate! Also making its debut at the Purple Wall Cart at the Magic Kingdom is Purple Wall Cotton Candy. Sure to make those popular Instagram shots even better.
More than ever, Walt Disney World Resorts are featuring specialty treats unique to the individual resorts. So let’s do a little resort hopping to take a look at some of the purple treats popping up all over property.
All of the Disney’s All-Star Resorts will be featuring the delightful Purple Starry Sky Cake. The dome shaped dessert features purple chocolate mousse, chocolate sponge, and dark chocolate with a galaxy glaze topped with galaxy sprinkles. You can find these in the bakery area of the food court.
Our next stop on our Purple Treat resort hopping trip is to Disney’s Art of Animation and Disney’s Pop Century Resorts. You can head on into either of these food courts to find the Purple Galaxy Cupcake. This out of this world chocolate cupcake is filled with raspberry marmalade topped with vanilla buttercream, galaxy glitter, crispy pearls, and chocolate ears. Yes, please!
Arguably, the most beautiful purple treat that is heading to Walt Disney World can be found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. This work of art looks as if it was found in the wild. The African Violet is a vanilla cupcake with berry medley preserves topped with chocolate buttercream. You don’t have to go on a safari to find this flower, just head on over to The Mara to pick one up.
Contemopo Cafe at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is our next stop on our purple treat resort hopping adventure. There you will find the Purple Contempo Cupcake. This strawberry cupcake is filled with purple sprinkles topped with lavender buttercream and purple Minnie ears. Don’t forget to eat the bow!
Since we are on the monorail loop let’s hop on and take a ride over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to check out their purple treat offering. Captain Cook’s and the Kona Coffee Bar both feature the Purple Minnie Cupcake. This purple Minnie inspired treat is a Vanilla cupcake filled with peanut butter and raspberry jam topped with purple buttercream. Once again, don’t forget about the bow!
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort is next on our Walt Disney World Purple Treat adventure. Here you will find what is simple knows as the Purple Cupcake. This shimmery vanilla cupcake is stuffed with cotton candy topped with cotton candy buttercream, chocolate glitter ears, and shimmer chocolate crispy pearls. Whoa, cotton candy topped with cotton candy? Yes! You can find this sweet treat at the Riverside Mill Food Court and the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory.
Did someone say Purple Blackberry Mousse Brownie? Yes, and you can find this at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort inside the Roaring Fork. This amazing dessert features a rich brownie covered in blackberry mousse and topped with Mickey ears!
Our last and unfortunately final stop on our hunt for Walt Disney World purple treats is Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. These resorts will feature the Black Raspberry Lemon Tart and despite its name, it is purple! The sweet sugar tart shell is filled with black raspberry-lemon curd topped with black raspberry mousse, glacage, chocolate Minnie ears, buttercream, and sugar crispy pearls. Just head on over to the resort Marketplaces to find this unique purple treat.
