If you are traveling to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park in the coming weeks you may notice something different as you walk by the Rivers of America near the Liberty Square Riverboat and the Haunted Mansion.
The Liberty Belle Riverboat has been down for refurbishment since January 8, 2018 and will continue to be down until the end of September. Recently, the Rivers of America was partially drained from the Liberty Belle dock to the Haunted Mansion which has exposed the steam-powered paddler wheeler’s track. The track guides the large riverboat around the tight quarters of the river that surrounds Tom Sawyer Island.
The water on both sides are being held back by constructed dams. You can get an upclose look at the dam by going through the Haunted Mansion queu or venturing over to Tom Sawyer Island. Check out the photos below of the current state of the drained Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom Park. Also, make sure you check out our Liberty Square Riverboat page for more photos of the Rivers of America with water in it to see the differences.
