Happy 10 year anniversary Toy Story Midway Mania! On this day, May 31, 2008, Toy Story Midway Mania! opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Over the past 10 years Toy Story Midway Mania! hasn’t witnessed many updates. On May 21, 2010 the Bo Peep’s Baaa-loon Pop scene was replaced by Rex and Trixie’s Dino Darts to promote the release of Toy Story 3 and in May of 2016 a third track was opened to alleviate some of the long lines that one can experience in the stand-by line as well as . It has continued to be one of the most popular attractions in all of Walt Disney World and in less than a month it will become one of three attractions in Toy Story Land. When Toy Story Land opens on June 30th the original entrance to the attraction will close and a new one will open on the other side of the show building. Currently the entrance is located in the Pixar Place area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
As this very popular attraction moves into a new decade, and a new land, will we see any changes to the show scenes? When the attraction originally opened there was a lot of talk regarding the ability to easily switch out show scenes and add new and unique “games”. This makes a lot of sense because it was simply a projection on a screen. Now would be the perfect time for Disney to change up some of the scenes and freshen up this still popular attraction.
