The New York Times is reporting that John Lasseter will officially be leaving Disney at the end of the year.
Pixar’s Co-Founder, who has been on leave since last November due to personal “missteps” where he has been accused of inappropriate behavior, will remain on as a consultant for the company. This consulting role will also end at the end of the year.
Lasseter served as both Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer. Even though there have been no official announcements Frozen director, Jennifer Lee, and Up director, Pete Docter look to be in line to fill the Walt Disney Animation Studio and Pixar positions respectively.
