Since 1971 Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom has been the source for daily memories for millions of families. There are many things that evoke emotion as you experience “The Most Magical Place on Earth”. These things can be the sights, the music, the smells, the food but most people will respond by saying the attractions. While we think it is a blend of the environment as a whole, the attractions are definitely the pillars of the park.
We wanted to know what you, the WDW Kingdom Disney Fan Nation, thought were the top 3 attractions in the Magic Kingdom. We had over 70 of you respond to this question and it was quite interesting to see what you thought. Here is a breakdown of the top 3 attraction in Magic Kingdom according to the WDW Kingdom Disney Fan Nation members.
Lisa points our that “Almost everyone had Haunted Mansion in their top 3! Classic Disney favorite!”. Haunted Mansion is one of the very first attractions you think about when you talk about Magic Kingdom attractions, and you guys agreed. 53 of the 77 responses had Haunted Mansion in their top 3 with 29 being number 1. We will dive a little deeper into your love of Haunted Mansion on a future article. There were 42 out of 77 votes for Pirates of the Caribbean with 11 being number 1. To round up our top 3 Magic Kingdom attractions according to you, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad comes in with 25 responses with 4 of them being number 1.
If we take a little deeper look into the numbers you will notice that most of these attractions are historically nostalgic but then again, most attractions in the Magic Kingdom were built before 1999. What was very surprising was the fact that only 2 of the 77 responses were for the classic attraction, Jungle Cruise and not one response was for Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. What does this say about these attractions? I can possibly understand Tiki Room being low but not one response? Is it because the Tiki Room is just too simple now a days? Has it lost its historical nostalgia? Personally, I feel Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room should be in the conversation for one simple reason, Walt Disney, the man. Why did only 2 of you think to put the Jungle Cruise in your top 3? It has adventure, humor and of course the “backside of water”. Those three things alone put it in my top 3.
