One of the most surprising announcements out of the 2017 D23 Expo was the announcement that Disney was developing a unique space-themed restaurant for Epcot. “We know our guests love dining at Epcot – and the restaurants really are out of this world,” Walt Disney Imagineer, Tom Fitzgerald said. “Now we’re about to create one that takes that literally.” Disney also states that this restaurant “will invite guests to travel into space for amazing dining experiences in the stars”.
There have been many rumors in the Disney community of where the restaurant will end up including the old Wonders of Life pavilion that has seen some recent updates. Those rumors are not true as the Disney Parks Blog announced today the space-themed restaurant will be located in Future World between Test Track and Mission: SPACE. We put together a little map to give you a perspective on where we think it will officially go. There has been no announcement regarding opening date but we will keep you updated as we get more information.
The Patina Group will operate the restaurant as it does many great dining locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort including Tutto Italia and Via Napoli at Epcot and Morimoto Asia and Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante.
