Can you believe its almost been 20 years since Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened? You don’t have to wait until April 22, 2018 to pick up your official Disney’s Animal Kingdom 20th anniversary merchandise. Let’s take a looks at some of the new goodies that are now available to purchase.
The Tree of Life serves as the inspiration for the design of the 20th anniversary logos which incorporate a variety of recognizable images into the finished look.
“We mixed earth tone colors with images of animals and icons reminiscent of the beautifully sculpted animal carvings found on the breathtaking Tree of Life,” explained Cody Reynolds, Senior Creative Director with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Creative Group.
From a banshee at Pandora – The World of Avatar to a Baobab tree from the Kilimanjaro Safaris attractions, artists drew more than 50 stylized animals, icons and graphics for an artwork style guide. Merchandise developers referenced this guide when creating items to ensure the overall assortment had a consistent look.
The merchandise will include a variety of apparel, pins, collectibles, Alex and Ani Jewelry, home decor and more all adorned with the beautiful Disney’s Animal Kingdom 20th anniversary logos. You can find the 20th anniversary merchandise at the Island Mercantile inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom as well as a variety on the Shop Disney Parks mobile app.
