The Tree of Life is the iconic symbol for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  Located in the Discovery Island area, this 145 foot tall “tree” is home to over 300 beautifully carved animals.  These carvings are located throughout the roots and branches and represent animals from around the world.  Look closely as you will see such animals as the eagle, monkey, pelican, rhinoceros, hippopotamus and so many more.  Even more animals were added to the extended roots of the tree in early 2015.  You can get an up close look at the carvings as you explore the Discovery Island Trails.  The fun 3D film It’s Tough to be a Bug starring Flik from Disney Pixar A Bug’s Life, is located inside the Tree of Life.  The details of the Tree of Life are not to be missed during your visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
