Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (FP+)

Are you ready for the “Wildest ride in the Wilderness”? Big Thunder Mountain Railroad opened on September 23, 1980 in the Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland. Located in the back of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom sits one of Disney’s mountains and inside and around this mountain you’ll find a thrilling run away mine train rollercoaster set in the late 1800’s. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reaches peak speeds of around 30 mph but the sharp turns and drops will make it feel like you are going much faster! Keep your eyes open as you never know what you will see as you twist and turn through caves, waterfalls, the flooded town of Tumbleweed and even dinosaur bones. FastPass+ is available for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and is needed on most days if you don’t like waiting for more than 30 minutes in the stand by line.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has a minimum height requirement to ride – 40″
Touring Tips
• Like most Magic Kingdom attractions, this is one you will want to experience at night.
• If you do not want to use a FastPass+ selection on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad we suggest heading over there first thing in the morning.
